represent and advise parties facing potential liability
under union contracts and federal statutes including the
Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1980, the
Black Lung Benefits Act, the Coal Industry Retiree Health
Benefit Act of 1992, and the Federal Mine Health and Safety
Act. We consult with and advise coal companies and other
potentially liable parties in the context of commercial
and corporate transactions as well as litigation. We defend
federal black lung benefits claims and represent clients
in MSHA civil penalty proceedings and investigations.
